Frequently Asked Questions
You don’t need to have any prior programming experience to start using Daisy instruments.
Each individual module may be controlled directly via their virtual instrument control panel within the Daisy Controller App. When you wish to add that instrument to your automation workflow, simply press the “Append Above Parameters” button in the app to copy the manual settings for that module into your script window. In this way, you don’t even need to remember the instrument’s command format.
When you get into more complicated workflows, it will help to be familiar with a few simple Python syntax — such as for and while loops.
Our AI assistant is in beta stage and will be available to our early adopter partners. This assistant can suggest script options for connected instrument networks; it can also automatically find and fix simple bugs in your code. As we develop this functionality further, the AI assistant will eventually be able to help automatically script complicated workflows with simple descriptions from users.

The Daisy Platform offers a very cost-effective and highly time-efficient approach to building proof-of-concept demonstrations and obtaining critical data — saving months from your development timeline.
If the next step after that is to create a dedicated, stand-alone instrument for your company or institution, contact our technical development team in advance. We specialize in turning your Daisy network and your custom application requirements into a robust, stand-alone instrument that is unique to you. Your logo, your color scheme, your graphical user interface, your workflow.
We can do this quickly and efficiently, because we don’t start from scratch. The underlying technology, firmware, circuitry and components are still the same as the ones from Daisy. Our process cuts the typical development timeline for a new instrument platform (proof-of-concept to beta instruments) from 12-18 months down to 6-9 months. The resulting savings in resources and time can dramatically accelerate your organization’s success.
