PTFE Tubing Assemblies

$45.03$51.95

These tubing assemblies come with PTFE tubing of various sizes, capped at both ends with Click-N-Seal fittings/ferrules for maximum performance and longevity. They are easy to clean and reuse, low-binding, and highly chemically inert. If your application needs one end of the tubing to be free, simply choose the appropriate length assembly and cut it to size near the middle. Intended to be used with the Daisy Sol-Val, Daisy Multi Valve and the Daisy Piston instruments.

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a fluoropolymer, more commonly known by its trade name, Teflon®. PTFE is a hydrophobic, nonreactive material with a low coefficient of friction. It is among the most chemically inert, nontoxic, and nonflammable substances used in laboratory setting, making it ideal for use with a wide range of reagents. PTFE tubing also has non-stick properties, preventing material sticking to the tube. This is important in diagnostics and research testing, as the tubing requires less wash solution to clean in-between runs.

In fact, PTFE tubing has the some of the highest working temperatures and chemical resistance of tubing available today. It can tolerate acids, coolants, and other harsh chemicals over a wide range of temperatures. It has a smooth interior for unrestricted flow and easy cleaning. In fact, autoclaving, steam cleaning or chemical cleaning are all highly compatible with this tubing as sterilization methods. Tubing is semi-flexible, so it is good for gradual bends (5/8” minimum bend radius for the 1/16” OD PTFE tubing; 1” for 1/8” OD).

We recommend using PTFE tubing with our manifolds and valve instruments (Daisy Sol-Val and Multi Valve series), as well as with Daisy Piston. All these instruments come standard with 1/4-28 UNF threaded ports, enabling the use of a single type of fitting to connect them with PTFE tubing.

ArcMed’s Click-N-Seal fitting (white acetal) and ferrule (PTFE/Stainless Steel) combination for 1/16” PTFE tubing.

We provide PTFE tubing by itself (sold in 25′ increments), as well as tubing assemblies with ArcMed’s Click-N-Seal fittings made out of PEEK and flat-bottom ferrules made out of PTFE/Stainless Steel for maximum chemical compatibility and highest performance.

Click-N-Seal fittings slip when a calibrated torque is exceeded, thereby preventing over tightening.

The Click-N-Seal fittings make a clicking sound and stop tightening when the appropriate torque has been reached, making it virtually impossible to over-tighten the fluidic connections. They are ideal for fluidic configurations that might require frequent reconfiguration, as they protect the threads in instruments from being stripped, while ensuring leak-free connections. If you choose to use other fitting/ferrule systems with Daisy instruments, make sure the connectors are only finger-tight on instrument ports. Keep in mind that our tubing assemblies will save you money in the long run, as the fittings are designed to both prevent damage to Daisy instruments, as well as avoid damage to the fitting threads themselves.

Our PTFE tubing assemblies come at different lengths (6” to 36”), with both ends featuring the Click-N-Seal fittings and P-type PTFE/SS ferrules from ArcMed. If your application needs one of the tubing ends to be free, simply purchase a longer tubing assembly and cut it to size.

PTFE tubing assemblies can be cleaned and reused numerous times in different applications. You can change them if/when tubing gets bent/pinched accidentally.
