PTFE Tubing

$41.25$53.00

These PTFE tubings come in various internal diameters to suit your application. They are easy to clean and reuse, low-binding, and highly chemically inert. Intended to be used with the Daisy Sol-Val, Daisy Multi Valve and the Daisy Piston instruments, as well as any fluidic path that can benefit from its high chemical resistance, and high tolerance for pressure and temperature. Each package contains 25′ long tubing.

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a fluoropolymer, more commonly known by its trade name, Teflon®. PTFE is a hydrophobic, nonreactive material with a low coefficient of friction. It is among the most chemically inert, nontoxic, and nonflammable substances used in laboratory setting, making it ideal for use with a wide range of reagents. PTFE tubing also has non-stick properties, preventing material sticking to the tube. This is important in diagnostics and research testing, as the tubing requires less wash solution to clean in-between runs.

In fact, PTFE tubing has the some of the highest working temperatures and chemical resistance of tubing available today. It can tolerate acids, coolants, and other harsh chemicals over a wide range of temperatures. It has a smooth interior for unrestricted flow and easy cleaning. In fact, autoclaving, steam cleaning or chemical cleaning are all highly compatible with this tubing as sterilization methods. Tubing is semi-flexible, so it is good for gradual bends (5/8” minimum bend radius for the 1/16” OD PTFE tubing; 1” for 1/8” OD).

We recommend using PTFE tubing whenever temperature, pressure and/or harshness of chemicals to be used are high. We provide PTFE tubing by itself (sold in 25′ increments), as well as tubing assemblies with ArcMed’s Click-N-Seal fittings made out of PEEK and flat-bottom ferrules made out of PTFE/Stainless Steel for maximum chemical compatibility and highest performance.

PTFE tubing assemblies can be cleaned and reused numerous times in different applications. You can change them if/when tubing gets bent/pinched accidentally.

Use higher ID tubing with instruments with higher ID internal channels. For instance, Daisy Sol Val XL is intended to be used with the 1/16” ID PTFE tubing, whereas Daisy Sol Val may be used with smaller ID tubing.
