Silicone Tubing Set (for Daisy Peri T)

$54.00$108.00

Platinum-cured, high-purity silicone tubing is chemically inert and provides a smooth interior surface (compared to other silicone tubings), making it easy-to-clean and reducing microbial contamination risks. Class VI, non-haemolytic, non-cytotoxic, non-pyrogenic, with excellent chemical resistance — excellent for pharma manufacturing or general laboratory work with cells and chemicals. Simply choose the internal and outer diameters (ID/OD) of the tubing for the maximum flow rate that your application needs. Each package contains 25 ft. long tubing.

Tygon® Sanitary Silicone Tubing is the superior choice for high-purity applications, primarily due to its ultra-smooth inner bore, which is up to three times smoother than other silicone tubings available in the market. The smoother fluid path facilitates complete system cleaning, reduces microbial contamination risks and ensures a cleaner transfer process, as particles and residues are less likely to adhere to the tubing walls.

The tubing is made from 100% synthetic virgin silicone, and platinum-cured for added stability. No plant or animal products or by-products are used in the manufacture of, nor intentionally added to, the tubing. They are produced in an ISO 14644 Class 7 cleanroom facility from USP 88 Class VI and FDA 21 CFR approved raw materials in accordance with cGMP principles. The tubing has been fully tested to ISO 10993 standards.

Silicone is generally chemically inert and is attacked by only a very few common materials. Among them are concentrated sulphuric acid, hydrofluoric acid, and, under long-term exposure, high-pressure steam. Silicone rubber also has excellent resistance to solvents and other chemicals. It is essentially unaffected by polar organic compounds (aniline, alcohol, etc.) or dilute acids or bases.

Our preferred peristaltic pump tubing is PharMed BPT, as it simply lasts significantly longer than silicone tubing, more than justifying the slightly higher sticker price over the lifetime of the tube. However, in cases where silicone tubing is needed for chemical compatibility or other performance reasons, our recommended tubing is this Tygon SPT 3350 Sanitary Silicone tubing. US Plastic or Cole-Parmer has many silicone or thermoplastic tubing options to choose from for peristaltic pumping applications. If silicone tubing is what your application needs, and you need something other than Tygon SPT 3350, check out their web sites. We recommend keeping in mind that not all silicone tubing is created equal: contamination of your reagents via chemical leaching from the tubing should always be considered a possibility with silicone tubing obtained from outside of trusted suppliers.
