Stopper Fittings

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a fluoropolymer, more commonly known by its trade name, Teflon^®. PTFE is a hydrophobic, nonreactive material with a low coefficient of friction. It is among the most chemically inert, nontoxic, and nonflammable substances used in laboratory settings, making it ideal for use with a wide range of reagents.

Scalables provides 1/4-28 UNF stopper fittings (also known as port plugs or blanking plugs) for use in all compatible instruments (e.g., Daisy Sol Val and Multi Valve series) to plug unused ports.

These PTFE stoppers also have non-stick properties, preventing material from sticking to the plug. PTFE has some of the highest working temperatures and chemical resistance available today. It can tolerate acids, coolants, and other harsh chemicals over a wide range of temperatures. Autoclaving, steam cleaning, or chemical cleaning are all highly compatible with this tubing as sterilization methods.

PTFE stoppers can be cleaned and reused numerous times in different applications.
